The Science GSE call for a three-dimensional (3D) approach to teaching, learning, and assessment in Georgia’s science classrooms. To help support this approach, Northeast Georgia RESA and Oconee River GYSTC are working with our teachers to develop item sets that provide a model for this 3D assessment. Like instruction, 3D assessments should require students to use core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts to make sense of and explain phenomena or to develop solutions to engineering problems. The item sets found in this bank reflect this approach and will likely be quite different from assessment items you have been using in your classroom. The bank is a work in progress, so check back regularly for new items.
Each item includes a scoring guide, and we want to maintain the security of these documents. Therefore, you will need a password to access the bank. Please use this form to request the password. You can then access the bank here. The bank is intended for use by Georgia science educators, only. Please help us maintain the security of the bank by not sharing the password or posting items or answer guides online. Please read this blog post if you would like to know more about our development process or you would like to develop your own items sets. If you develop new item sets, then we would love to share them on this site. Email or share the documents with [email protected]. Please contact us with any questions. |
